"Tac-tee"

Marcus' favourite truck.

He calls all trucks & tractors "Tac-tee" at the moment but this is his favourite one.

I guess you can call it his comfort object. He loves this truck.

He wants to take it everywhere with him and even wants it on his

tray when he's eating in his high chair.

Monday, May 21st

Marcus loves cars, trucks, tractors, trains, buses and planes. He is so fascinated by them. We have construction in front of our house right now and the first thing he wants to do when he wakes up in the morning, is to go to the window and watch the tractors. Every morning, he wakes up, points to the window and says, "Tac-tee!" He also says "baa" for bus and "pee-ain" for plane. Even if he doesn't see the object, he can distinguish between the sound of a bus and the sound of an airplane and will point it out to us. He amazes us. It's such a fun stage right now. We are loving every moment of it.

Marcus also loves water. Trying to take him out of the bathtub is always a challenge. He's such a water baby. Last summer when we took him to the cottage he was afraid of water but now that he's older and more aware, he loves it! We still haven't had the chance to take him swimming in a pool yet but that is defnitely on our "To Do" list.

I love these new slip-ons we got him. He loves them too. So much better than Crocs because they're not bulky and he's not tripping over with them like he does with the Crocs.

We got him these new slip-ons on Saturday (the day we were supposed to go to Pellar Estates winery for Food Truck Eats but decided to cross the border and go shopping instead).

We forgot Marcus' stroller and didn't want to be chasing after him in the 30-degree weather so decided to take him shopping instead. Marcus was such an angel at the mall. He was in such a good mood and even trying to say "love you" back to us on our way home.

Hey everyone,

If you're following me (or if you care), you might have noticed that I've been MIA. Well, busy is not even an excuse anymore...I've just been completely lazy and unmotivated to blog. I have some changes I want to make to my blog...like add watermarks on all of my pics and dress up/change the layout but my old beat up Macbook is just killing me! I really need a new Macbook Pro. I do want to start blogging again and told one of my blogging friends, Raven that I will start tonight, so here I am. By the way, if you are not following Raven, you must. She is one of my all time favourite bloggers! She's beautiful, honest, real and her posts are always so interesting, entertaining and truly fun to read. Just click on her name to check this hot mama out!

Ok, so back to my life. So many things happening or has happened...

1. I quit my dental hygiene job 2 weeks ago. I'm retiring from that field for now and I'm not sure when I want to go back...but hopefully by then, I will still have my licence. I'm much happier now doing office/admin work 3 days a week (Tues, Wed, Thurs) and totally loving my 4-day weekend!

2. We sold and bought a new house. I don't think I've mentioned this before on my blog...it's bittersweet for me. I'm sad to be moving out of our 1st home (we are downsizing) but at the same time I'm going to be so happy when we are debt free (we made a good chunk). We do have a 5 year plan though...sell our house, downsize and then invest and acquire 3 investment properties by the 5th year. After that, we can move into our forever home. Our forever dream home? A custom built bungalow on a fairly big lot surrounded by green space...well atleast back onto green space. That is our dream...to be able to have breakfast and enjoy our mornings together in the backyard on a nice deck or patio...*sigh* Ok...now I'm really dreaming. Back to reality, Yean! Anyhow, moving date for us is June...*sniff, sniff* :(

3. We are going on our first family vacation (Marcus' first plane ride) end of June! We've been deciding for awhile on where to go on our first family vacation (Hawaii - too far and long, carribbean cruise - Kyle has bad motion sickness, Atlantis/Bahamas - not worth it with a toddler) and after much research, we finally decided on the Playacar Palace in the Mayan Riviera. We decided on the Mayan because it has special meaning to us. We got married there almost 3 years ago, so we figured it would be nice to take Marcus there on his first vacation and also to celebrate our 3-year anniversary. What we love about Mexico is that the flights will be fairly short and direct to travel with a toddler. We also have the option to stay for 5 nights instead of 7 nights...just in case...you never know how it's going to turn out with a baby, right? We're crossing fingers that all goes well and that Marcus will be an angel baby on the trip. :P

12 MONTHS!!!

I'm 2 months LATE with Marcus' 12-Month update.

Happy 14 Months my love!

It's crazy how fast time flies.

Lately, I find I'm always complaining about not having enough time in my day to do anything...

I want and NEED more time!

2012 has brought me so much more than I could have ever expected, and it's only the end of March!

Battling a chest and sinus infection at the same time for almost 2 months did NOT help one bit.

Tying to balance home, family, work and unforeseen circumstances in life makes it pretty stressful.

I'm beat, worn out, & TIRED...

Its been difficult finding time like I used to have to update my blog.

But I am hopeful that everything will slow down within the next few months

and I can get back on track again.

But for now, I will take it one day at a time. :)

Dear Marcus,

We cannot believe you're a little "toddler" now. You're always full of life and energy. Your rambunctious personality makes every day an adventure for us. You're still the Master of Disaster...destroying everything and anything you lay your hands on. You definitely make your presence known wherever you go. You're a happy smiley baby. You're smart and silly. Always testing mommy & daddy and craving our undivided attention. You're just incredible in so many ways. How did we get so lucky with you? We just love you so much. Words cannot describe how blessed we are to have you in our lives. You keep us on our toes but at the same time, you teach us to be the best parents we can be. You gave us the greatest gift of all, unconditional love.
